A mum’s candid TikTok has reignited national debate after she suggested that some playground equipment — particularly tall metal slides — shouldn't be used by young children.


The video, which showed her toddler sliding down and landing awkwardly, prompted her to label the slide design as “dangerous.” Her statement sparked mixed reactions. While many parents supported her call for safer playground design, others argued that managed risk is an essential part of childhood learning.

This conversation opens a wider question around playground design, child development, and how much supervision is necessary versus allowing children to explore and learn limits.
